宁波市拥有历史悠久的传统文化：赛龙舟，在每年夏季时会举行赛龙舟比赛，众多市民前来参加比赛，一声鞭炮响，龙舟齐发，锣鼓声与岸上观看的人群呼喊声不绝于耳；宁波传统工艺在深厚的岁月积淀中孕育而成，诸如骨木嵌镶、金银彩绣、泥金彩漆、朱金木雕、甬式家具等，选用木材讲究，手艺精绝，风格独特；宁波历来是中国盛产海鲜的主要区域之一。宁波传统文化的要素融入到设计方案中使建筑更加融入当地文化生活：形态上，将赛龙舟船的形态与朱金木雕的雕刻技术结合，立面上将不同气候风向的变化与渔网的纹路结合，景观上将舞狮的舞动与景观的自然生长结合，形态、立面、景观构成建筑的整体落地概念。

Ningbo has a long history of traditional culture: dragon boat races are held every summer, and many people come to participate in the races, with the sound of firecrackers and dragon boats, the sound of gongs and drums and the shouting of the crowd watching on the shore. Ningbo’s traditional crafts have been nurtured by the deep accumulation of years, such as bone and wood inlay, gold and silver embroidery, clay and gold lacquer, Zhujin wood carving, Yong-style furniture, etc. These crafts use wood with care and have excellent craftsmanship and unique style. Ningbo is traditionally one of the main regions in China where seafood is produced in abundance. Elements of Ningbo traditional culture are integrated into the design scheme to make the building more integrated into local cultural life: the form of the dragon boat race is combined with the carving technique of Zhujin wood carving; the elevation combines the changes of different climatic winds with the pattern of fishing nets; the landscape combines the lion dance with the natural growth of the landscape; the form, elevation and landscape constitute the overall landing concept of the building.
